The Center of Excellence in Energy is funded by the United States Agency for International Development with the goal of advancing Egypt’s energy transition and helping the country reach its goal of using 42% renewable energy by 2035.
This center is managed by Arizona State University in cooperation with partner universities in Egypt (Ain Shams University, Mansoura University, and Aswan University), in addition to governmental and industrial partners.
The center aims to improve the capacity of Egyptian higher education institutions, stimulate innovation, modernization, and competition in the energy sector, and also promote the government’s policy to stimulate economic growth and address the energy challenges in Egypt.
