1. Holding a bachelor’s degree in engineering from one of the Egyptian Universities in the relevant department, or receiving a comparable degree from another relevant scientific institution.
2-A student must complete a diploma program that lasts at least two years and has a good overall grade at the bachelor’s stage, at the very least.
3-Studying for a master’s degree in engineering requires at least two years, starting from the time of enrolment in the degree program, which is separated into two stages:
A-Preparation year; unless the preparatory year tests are passed satisfactorily, the student cannot go from this year to the registration stage.
B-Registration Stage (Laboratory studying).
Required papers for master enrollment:
-Bachelor’s certificate in engineering with a good overall estimate of at least, but this condition isn’t necessary in the case of a student who has obtained postgraduate studies diploma from one of the faculties of engineering in the universities.
-For the students of the private faculties and engineering institutes(submitting approved equivalent certification from the Supreme Council of Universities)
1-An original copy of the graduation certificate.
2-An original copy of the automated birth certificate.
3-4 recent photographs.
4- A copy of the personal ID.
5-A statement of the student’s grades during the study years until the bachelor’s stage.
6-The approval of the employer according to the workers of the government sector or in the business sector.
7-An original copy of the military form for males; the recruiter has to get a formal letter from the Organization & Administration Department stamped with the Republic’s Seal.
Soldiers must submit one of the following documents:
1-The approval of Armed Forces Management and Administration( if the applicant is a soldier).
2-The approval of Office Affairs ( if the applicant is an officer in the armed forces )
3-The approval of the Security Directorate( if a student is an officer in the police force or police secretary or one of the civilians’ employees in the Ministry of Interior Affairs)
-Withdrawing a file for submitting from the postgraduate studies office with a cost of 50 l.e.
-Submitting during 1- 31 October per year.
-Study fees (2510 l.e).
-The student can’t move from the registration enrollment to the registration stage unless he doesn’t pass the preparatory year’s exam successfully.
-The faculty council assigns a professor to supervise a mission upon the suggestion of the competent department council and the condition, there is no the council has to assign one of the assistant professors for supervision and is allowed a multitude of supervisors among the academic staff and in this case, the professors can participate in the supervision.
-An external supervisor from the specialists can participate in the supervision in the case the student researches the same department of the external supervisor after the approval of the faculty council.
-At the end of the academic year, the supervisor presents a report about the progress of the student in the research to the department council and this report is presented to the faculty council and the council of postgraduate studies and research upon the suggestion of the faculty council, the graduate studies and research council can cancel the enrollment of the student in the light of this is the report.
– The enrollment of a student is canceled if the registration of his mission passed five years and he didn’t obtain the degree unless the faculty council approved to keep the registration for another year upon the suggestion of the report of the supervisor or the supervising body of mission after taking the opinion of the relevant department.
-The supervisor or the supervisors of the mission present a report about its feasibility to the relevant department council after finishing preparing it to be presented to the Judiciary Committee to form a committee of the judgment in preparation for presentation to the faculty council.
-The Judiciary Committee of the mission is consisting of three members one of them is the supervisor of the mission two other members from the specialists of the university and the different research institutes, the two members or one of them can be from assistant professors or one of the specialists has the same scientific degree.
– In the case of there being more than one supervisor for the mission, some or all the supervision bodies present one common report. In all conditions, one member of the committee has to be at least from outside the university.
-A public discussion is held to judge the thesis, and the committee members present individual and collective scientific reports about the thesis and the outcome of the judgment.
-All the reports are presented to the department council and then to the faculty council in preparation for presenting them to the university council. It is proper for the student who doesn’t obtain the degree to re-present the thesis after completing its deficiencies or re-convening the public debate or presenting another thesis upon the authorization of the faculty’s council.
