1. Holding a bachelor’s degree in engineering from one of the Egyptian universities in the relevant department, or receiving a comparable degree from another relevant scientific institution.
2- Students must complete a diploma program that lasts at least two years and has a good overall grade at the bachelor’s stage, at the very least.
3-Studying for a master’s degree in engineering requires at least two years, starting from the time of enrolment in the degree program, which is separated into two stages:
A-Preparation year; unless the preparatory year tests are passed satisfactorily, the student cannot go from this year to the registration stage.
B-Registration Stage (Laboratory studying).

1-Bachelor certification in engineering with a good overall grade and this condition can be waived if a student has a postgraduate studies diploma from one of the engineering faculties of a governmental university; equivalent certification approved by the Supreme Council of Universities for private universities and engineering institutes.
2-For the students of the private faculties and engineering institutes(submitting approved equivalent certification from the Supreme Council of Universities)
1- Original form of the graduation certificate.
2- Original form of the automated birth certificate.
3- 4 new photographs.
3- A copy of the personal ID.
4- A statement of the student’s grades up to the bachelor’s degree level.
5- The permission of the employer based on the workers in the governmental or private sector.
6-An authentic copy of the military form for males; the recruiter must obtain a formal letter stamped with the Republic’s Seal from the Organisation & Administration Department.
Soldiers must submit one of the following documents:
1-The approval of Armed Forces Management and Administration ( if the applicant is a soldier).
2-The approval of Office Affairs ( if the applicant is an officer in the armed forces )
3-The approval of the Security Directorate( if a student is an officer in the police force or police secretary or one of the civilians’ employees in the Ministry of Interior Affairs)
7-Withdrawing a file for submission from the postgraduate studies office at a cost of 50 l.e.
8-Submissions must be submitted between October 1 and October 31 each year.
9-Study fees (2510 l.e.).
♦️ A student may not proceed from the enrollment stage to the thesis registration stage until they have successfully passed the preparatory year examinations. The study period culminates in the submission of a thesis for public defense, with the thesis component carrying 24 credit hours.
♦️ Upon the recommendation of the relevant Department Council, the Faculty Council shall appoint a professor to supervise the thesis. If no professor is available in the relevant specialization, an associate professor may be appointed to serve as supervisor. More than one faculty member may be appointed to supervise the thesis. Lecturers may also participate in supervision, particularly when the student conducts the research at the institution where an external supervisor is employed, subject to the approval of the Faculty Council.
♦️ At the end of each academic year, the thesis supervisor shall submit a report to the relevant Department Council on the student’s progress in the research. The report shall then be submitted to the Faculty Council. Based on the Faculty Council’s recommendation and in light of the supervisor’s report, the Council of Graduate Studies and Research may decide to terminate the student’s enrollment in the degree program.
♦️ A student’s enrollment for the degree shall be terminated if five years have elapsed from the date of registration of the thesis topic without the degree being awarded. However, the Faculty Council may approve the continuation of the registration and extend it for an additional one year, based on a report submitted by the supervisor or supervisory committee and after consultation with the relevant Department Council.
♦️ Upon completion of the thesis, the supervisor(s) shall submit a report to the relevant Department Council confirming the thesis’s suitability for submission to the Examination Committee, together with a proposed composition of the committee, for consideration and approval by the Faculty Council.
♦️ The Thesis Examination Committee shall consist of three members: the thesis supervisor and two other members selected from among professors specializing in the relevant field at various universities and research institutes. One or both of these members may be associate professors or specialists holding an equivalent academic rank.
♦️ If the thesis is supervised by more than one supervisor and more than one supervisor serves on the Examination Committee, some or all members of the supervisory team shall submit a single joint report. In all cases, at least one member of the Examination Committee shall be from outside the university.
♦️ The thesis shall be defended in a public defense session, following which the committee members shall submit individual reports as well as a collective report on the thesis and the outcome of the examination. All reports shall be submitted to the relevant Department Council and subsequently to the Faculty Council, in preparation for submission to the University Council. If the student is not recommended for the award of the degree, the Faculty Council may authorize the student to repeat the public defense or submit a new thesis.
