On Tuesday morning, April 7, 2026, the Faculty of Energy Engineering at Aswan University organized an Environmental Day under the title: \u201cTogether for a Sustainable Environment and Clean Energy.\u201d The event was held under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Loay Saad El-Din Nasrat<\/strong>, President of Aswan University; Prof. Dr. Ashraf Imam,<\/strong> Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Dr. Tarek Hassan Mohamed,<\/strong> Dean of the Faculty of Energy Engineering; and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Thabet,<\/strong> Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. The event aimed to raise awareness of environmental issues, promote nature conservation, reduce pollution, and support ecosystem restoration.<\/span><\/p>\n Prof. Dr. Ashraf Imam<\/strong> emphasized the importance of advancing environmental sciences through pioneering efforts in capacity building, scientific assessment, and the development of guiding frameworks for the sustainable management of natural resources. He also highlighted the need to foster innovative and sustainable economic development that is environmentally responsible and socially and culturally appropriate.<\/span><\/p>\n Prof. Dr. Tarek Hassan<\/strong> stressed the vital role of the faculty, as well as that of science and education, in adopting participatory approaches and enhancing community and local awareness of the importance of biodiversity and the biosphere. He further underscored the necessity of taking effective action to address climate change, mitigate rising temperatures, and prevent ecosystem degradation.<\/span><\/p>\n In his address, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Thabet<\/strong> highlighted the positive impact of Environmental Day in promoting student engagement in community service through diversified environmental activities. These included a community service camp and tree-planting initiatives, in addition to environmental competitions such as \u201cBest Idea for Environmental Conservation,\u201d \u201cRecycling,\u201d \u201cEnvironmental Awareness,\u201d and \u201cEnvironmental Photography.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n These activities aimed to foster a spirit of constructive competition among students. Furthermore, a range of recreational activities were organized, including light sports and team-based games.
