Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering serves as a link between several engineering disciplines concerned with the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy systems. These disciplines include Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Engineering, and other related engineering sciences.
The specialization in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering covers various methods and systems used to generate energy from sustainable sources, as well as the distribution and utilization of this energy in different environments. The application of these methods and systems involves people, materials, information, and sustainable energy resources. Students study the design of such plants and perform the necessary analyses to determine their efficiency, performance indicators, and economic feasibility, while also comparing these plants to conventional power stations in terms of capital cost, environmental impact, and sustainability.
To establish the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Program at the Faculty of Energy Engineering, Aswan University, as a leading academic center in Upper Egypt and the Middle East, dedicated to preparing distinguished engineering cadres in the fields of clean and sustainable energy, and contributing to driving the transition towards a green future founded on innovation and knowledge.
The program aims to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and up-to-date technical skills in the field of renewable and sustainable energy through advanced academic curricula, integrated practical training, and a stimulating learning environment. It seeks to prepare graduates who are able to meet environmental and economic challenges and who can effectively contribute to sustainable development at the local, regional, and global levels.
The RSEE program aims to provide an overview of the fundamental relationships in the renewable energy sector, to apply the acquired knowledge in the professional field, and to enable graduates to independently identify new tasks.
A special feature of the RSEE program is that the departments of Mechanical Power Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Design, and Electrical Power Engineering, as well as the Department of Energy Control at the Faculty of Energy Engineering at Aswan University, will be responsible for the RSEE program. This ensures that graduates are well-prepared during their studies by professors from these departments, preparing them for their future roles.
