In light of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to launch an initiative for a new beginning (Bedaya Initiative) to build the Egyptian people with the aim of investing in human capital, the Faculty of Energy Engineering, Aswan University, organized the activities of the University Education and Industry Forum in Upper Egypt, under the patronage of Prof. Louay Saad El-Din Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, and Prof. Tarek Hassan Tarek Hassan Mohamed, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Energy Engineering, with the participation of a select group of academics and business leaders. The forum examined how to connect scientific research with the demands of the industrial labor market. The forum activities began on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, and ended on Thursday, April 10, 2025, in  Egypt Public Library in Aswan at 6:00 p.m.

In his speech, Dr. Louay Saad El-Din stated that the forum reflects Aswan University’s attempts to strengthen its position in community service and attaining long-term development in Upper Egypt. The event, which included a limited group of academics and industrialists, examined how to connect scientific research to the demands of the industrial labor market.

Dr. Tarek Hassan went on to say that one of the forum’s most prominent recommendations was to establish research and development units within factories and companies that would collaborate with universities to solve technical problems and improve industrial performance through cooperation protocols that ensured integration between the two parties.

Dr. Ahmed Awis, Director of Tyco Aswan, has urged for the development of a coalition that brings together regional industries and industrial cities with universities to handle technical issues and produce goods based on scientific research.
