Information technology is one of the basic elements that support universities in implementing their main tasks, including research, education, and learning. The practical vision of the electronic services unit must reflect the idea that information technology is not an isolated thing or owned by one entity, but rather a set of tools that facilitate achieving the missions and goals of universities.
Faculty’s information technology systems seek to develop the information infrastructure, establish the institutions of information systems and technology, raise technological awareness, contribute to achieving benefits for all concerned parties, and reduce the digital gap in higher education institutions in line with the strategy of developing higher education in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Electronic services employ information technology to support and develop educational, research, community, and administrative activities at the College of Energy and Natural Resources Engineering and provide distinguished electronic services to college members by achieving the following goals:
♦ Using electronic transactions instead of paper transactions by educating and raising the efficiency of college employees to use information technology.
♦ Converting a percentage of the college’s academic programs into electronic programs.
♦ Regulating the use of operating systems and software.
♦ Raising the efficiency of the college’s infrastructure and modernizing it.
· Regulating the use of operating systems and software and protecting devices against viruses ♦
· Working to develop the educational process by strengthening interaction between students and faculty members ♦
· Using university e-mail in all administrative transactions and communicating with students ♦
· Use the college’s official website to communicate with all concerned parties ♦
· Using electronic transactions instead of paper transactions ♦
♦ Increasing the efficiency of using the digital library and benefiting from its many services for researchers and students.
♦ Updating the activities and data of faculty members by uploading their CVs to the college website
