The Faculty of Energy Engineering places great importance on the value of extracurricular activities in student life. Additional activities enable students to make critical decisions about their future on their own and help them gain vital experience and useful skills for themselves. Students are encouraged to practice team sports and to take trips to historical and cultural centers in Egypt.
Student union consists of a group of students representing each batch and is distributed into seven committees:
-Families Group
– Social Group
– Sports Group
– Mobile Group
– Cultural Group
– Technical Group
– Scientific and Technological Group
– Enjoying citizenship in Egypt.
– Shows respect for morality and reputation.
– To be an ordinary pupil who is new to his group and won’t be coming back.
– Participate in the committee’s field of work as a member, in which he nominates himself.
– To receive tuition payments.
– He shouldn’t have already received a prison sentence or a judgment to discontinue or suspend his participation in a committee or student union.
Students Groups
1-Families Group:
The families committee specializes in encouraging students to form families, supporting their activities, and coordinating their various activities in the faculty, in addition to supervising its trips and organizing a sporting league among them in the various games; moreover, it organizes a cultural league that strengthens friendship bonds and creates a kind of honorable competition among students.
2-Cultural Group:
The cultural committee specializes in organizing the aspects of cultural activity that lead to introducing a student to the community’s characterizations and the needs of its development, as well as working on developing students’ cultural and literary powers.
3-Sports Group:
The sporting committee specializes in spreading sporting spirit among students and encouraging sporting talents and works to develop them, as well as organizing sporting activity in the faculty through forming sporting teams and holding matches, contests, parties, and festivals in the various sporting games.
4-Artistic Group:
The artistic committee specializes in the following activities: acting, music, choir, fine arts, Photography – embroidered arts, and others.
5-Scout Group:
The scout committee is specialized in organizing the aspects of discovering and guidance on the right fundamentals according to its principles, implementing the serving programs of the environment that are approved by the faculty’s council and departments which lead to contribute in developing society, and working on engaging students in implementing them which lead to benefit the national projects of the public service that the country needs.
6-Social Group:
The social committee specializes in organizing social activities and trips by working on developing social links between students and academic staff spreading the cooperation and brotherhood spirit and motivating the university spirit in them through organizing trips and social, cultural, and entertaining camps; it also specializes in supporting students who are financially incapable through the budget of the social solidarity according to the search case that the social workers of the faculty implement, the specializations of the committee also includes distributing the supporting of the university book to students to ensure achieving the principle of equal opportunity principal among students. Moreover what the committee carries out from the campaigns of blood donating, or inviting to donate to charities. Annually the committee organizes the ideal student’s contest over the faculty’s level.
7-Scientific and Technology Group
The scientific and technological committee specializes in holding seminars and scientific lectures to develop scientific and technological capabilities spreading knowledge in production and applying it through science clubs and scientific bodies.
1-Drawing the policy of the faculty’s student union based on the programs presented by committees.
2-Accrediting and monitoring the programs for the formation of union council committees.
3-Assigning financial accreditations to committees and establishing the council’s and its committees’ annual budgets.
4- Approval of the final accounts.
5-Coordinating the work of the faculty union council’s various committees.
6-Working on coordinating with the other student unions at the university’s faculties.
7-Electing a secretary and an assistant secretary for the union’s council from among its student members.
*The dean of the faculty appoints an advisor for each group from the union council committees who has experience in the field of the committee’s activity, which is as follows:
1-An academic staff advisor to the union council’s committees.
2-Students serve as secretaries and assistant secretaries on the union’s committees.
-Students choose the council’s members, including the secretary and assistant secretary.
-Attendance at meetings of the faculty’s council head of the technical staff of youth welfare.
-A secretary of the council fund must be the head of the technical staff for youth welfare at the faculty.
-Student union councils and their committees are elected at the end of November each year; no student is allowed to vote if he is not enrolled in the voters’ timetable and has proof of identity.
-It is a requirement for the validity of elections for groups of faculty-student unions that at least 50% of students with voting rights attend. If the number is not completed, the elections will be postponed for a maximum of three days; in this case, at least 20% of voters must be present. If the number is not completed this time, students from the batch with uncompleted numbers will be excluded.
After the investigation and hearing his statements, if the union member violated one of the following rules (organizing the rules of the student union, observing traditions, harming the union’s reputation or damaging its interests, or losing the condition of good morals and reputation), one of the following penalties will be imposed on him:
1- Refusing to allow the member to participate in the union’s or its committees’ activities.
2-Resigning from the union’s council or committees.
3-A year’s suspension of union membership.
The punishment may be issued by the dean of the faculty; the second and third penalties are imposed by the Student Disciplinary Council, as provided in Article 183 of the University Organisation Law.
