Prof. Tarek Hassan Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty of Energy Engineering at Aswan University, Prof. Mohamed Fathy, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies, along with the faculty members, staff, and supporting personnel, extend their heartfelt congratulations to the distinguished faculty members who have been recognized on Stanford University’s list of the world’s top 2% of scientists for 2025.
This prestigious list, compiled through a comprehensive study conducted by researchers at Stanford University and published by Elsevier, stands as a global benchmark honoring outstanding researchers whose scientific contributions have significantly advanced their fields of expertise.
The study is based on a meticulous analysis of Scopus data using a combination of quantitative and qualitative indicators, including the number of citations, h-index, hm-index (adjusted for co-authorship), citation impact relative to authorship position, and the composite research score (c-score), which reflects overall scientific influence.
This global list is considered the most extensive of its kind, encompassing elite scientists across 22 major scientific fields and 176 sub-disciplines.
The Faculty of Energy Engineering proudly announces that this year’s list includes four of its distinguished scientists, namely:
1. Prof. Ashraf Mohamed Hemeida – Professor of Electrical Engineering
2. Dr. Gaber Magdy – Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering
3. Dr. Diab Khalafallah – Assistant Professor of Materials Engineering and Mechanical Design
4. Dr. Mohamed Metwally Mahmoud – Lecturer of Electrical Engineering
The Faculty of Energy Engineering sincerely congratulates its esteemed scholars and researchers and wishes all its members continued success and excellence in their academic and scientific endeavors.
