In the light of Egypt’s vision 2030, Egypt transfers so fast toward the digital economy based on the knowledge that encourages innovation, research, and development, and as the main part of this vision conducts building the New Capital to be the 1st smart city in Egypt, belief in the role of the higher education and scientific research in supporting this transfer in this regard and within the framework of the preparations to launch 1st Egyptian Hackathon at the level of the state in the matter of smart cities in cooperation with Benha University and Global Amazon Company through which batches of the Egyptian, governmental and private Universities will participate to find innovative solutions in the following fields:
smart buildings-smart facilities-smart gardens-transform/smart traffic-smart recycle-smart energy-smart management-schools/smart universities.
The participated batches will be qualified through online seminars presented by Amazon experts for one week. Also, practical training will be presented to the qualified batches in the creative groups and the internet laboratories that are distributed in the Egyptian Universities. The qualified batches will be hosted for 3 days at Benha University and provide the necessary support, direction, and guidance for them to build and develop prototypes of their innovations, provided that the final arbitration will be done by specialized experts, and the results will be announced and the prizes will be handed over to Benha University on the third day.
The winner will receive financial prizes totaling 100,000 Egyptian pounds provided by Benha University in addition to valuable prizes provided by Amazon. The winners will also have a great opportunity to market their innovations to the new Egyptian private universities.
