The Faculty of Energy Engineering at Aswan University organized a cultural seminar on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, on the topic of renewable energy in serving the community. The event was held under the auspices of Prof. Louay Saad El-Din Nosrat, President of Aswan University; Prof. Ashraf Imam, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Tarek Hassan Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty of Energy Engineering; and Prof. Ahmed Thabet, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development. The seminar was attended by a distinguished group of academic and administrative leaders, faculty members, teaching assistants, and students.
The seminar began with a presentation by Eng. Ahmed Saleh, Assistant Lecturer in the Electrical Engineering Department and Deputy Director of the Quality Unit at the Faculty. He provided an introduction to the global energy challenges, the various sources of energy, and a focus on renewable energy sources, including recent developments in this field. The presentation also highlighted government initiatives to promote the use of renewable energy from solar and wind sources, aiming to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and achieve sustainable energy goals for the future.
Following the presentation, the seminar featured a session of questions, discussions, and active participation from the attendees. This engagement reflected the Faculty’s commitment to its social role, serving the surrounding community, and enhancing its contribution to the dissemination of knowledge and scientific awareness.
