The First Meeting of the Crisis and Disaster Management Unit at the Faculty of Energy Engineering

The first meeting of the Crisis and Disaster Management Unit at the Faculty of Energy Engineering, Aswan University, was held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, and was chaired by Prof. Tarek Hassan Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty. The meeting was attended by committee members including Prof. Ahmed Thabet, Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs and Community Service; Prof. Mohamed Fathy, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies; Dr. Walid Abdel-Fadil, Director of the Faculty’s Quality Assurance Unit; along with several other committee members.

The Crisis and Disaster Management Unit is an administrative and organizational body tasked with safeguarding individuals through effective emergency preparedness and response. Its responsibilities include identifying potential risks, developing simulation scenarios, promoting a culture of safety, training student and staff teams on evacuation procedures, ensuring the readiness of firefighting equipment, first aid supplies, and alarm systems, coordinating with external entities (such as Civil Defense and hospitals), and updating preventative and contingency plans.
