I am pleased to welcome you to the website of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Energy Engineering, Aswan University.
The Department of Electrical Power Engineering, which was established in 1989, is one of the oldest scientific departments in the field of electrical engineering in the South Upper Egypt region.
The department aims to prepare engineers who are able to effectively contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of various fields of electrical engineerings, such as power systems and networks, control systems, and systems and methods of generation from new and renewable energy.
The department also seeks to have a role in the field of energy in line with the direction of the college and the university in implementing the country’s vision for 2030.
On the other hand, the Department of Electrical Engineering updates the courses of the program in line with local and regional scientific developments.
In order to keep pace with the requirements of the labor market, the department has developed new study programs such as:
(Energy Control Engineering Program—Renewable and Sustainable Energy Engineering Program)
The department teaches various electrical engineering courses, such as:
(Fundamentals of electrical circuits, electrical machines, analysis of electric power networks and systems, distribution systems, and electric power stations; electronics; high voltage engineering; power electronics; cutting and protection devices; electrical measurements and tests; new and renewable energy; control of electric power systems).
The department offers academic degrees (diplomas and masters) for postgraduate students in scientific disciplines such as:
Electric power systems and electrical machines – high voltage engineering; – automatic control engineering; – generation and utilization of electrical energy; – industrial power electronics
In addition, the educational and research processes in the department are supported by many teaching laboratories and advanced qualitative laboratories that conduct laboratory tests for students and researchers, such as:
(Electrical Instruments Lab, Electrical Power Electronics Lab, Electrical Oil Tests Lab, Nanotechnology Lab, High Voltage Lab, Renewable Energy Lab, Automatic Control Lab, Programmable Logic Control Lab)
